Terremark Announces Expanded IT Solutions Portfolio

Thursday at the GigaOm Structure conference, Bob Toohey, President of Verizon Business, talked about the reasons behind the purchase of Terremark, a leading cloud provider which Verizon bought in January this year. Mr. Toohey took the opportunity to announce Verizon’s Expanded IT Solutions Portfolio that combines the industry-leading cloud, security and IT capabilities of Terremark and Verizon.

Explaining Verizon’s strategy and what Terremark brings to the company, Mr. Toohey said “there is no one size fits all cloud solution”. The company is focused on bringing the flexibility to enterprises to enable them to seamlessly move between private, public and hybrid clouds.

The same day Terremark issued a press release to announce its expanded IT solutions portfolio comprised of Verizon’s managed security, risk and compliance, and identity and access management services, as well as application management services and IT and security professional services.

“Terremark is accelerating Verizon’s global vision and strategy by offering the scale, reliability and performance enterprises require in the critical areas of IT infrastructure, cloud and security services.  This strength and focus is helping Verizon enable new ways for businesses to be more agile and aware, manage risk and increase productivity in today’s highly competitive global economy,” Mr. Toohey said in a statement.

Terremark enhanced portfolio is comprised of three areas:  IT Infrastructure and Cloud, Security, and related Professional Services. The company says its innovative technology will enable enterprises to seamlessly integrate public, private and hybrid cloud environments into their IT infrastructure while leveraging Terremark’s suite of advanced peering, interconnect and managed routing services.

New to Terremark’s portfolio are expended Security Services designed to protect customer’s data by combining its purpose-built architecture with physical security, policies and controls for compliance. Terremark will also offer an expanded set of related Professional Services to help its customers leverage the power of scalable and agile IT services.
